answer to tita anne-anne's "pangamusta"
first, let me say, i am proud of my boy! he has accomplished so much since we started 'observing' him.. sooooooooo different from the little "baby" we saw during his 2nd birthday.. let me enumerate his milestones... now, at 2 years,2 months, 1 week and 2 days old:
- counts from 1 to 10 (not so clearly but that's it!)
- identifies parts of the face and body
- strings beads
- uses spoon and fork when eating (food with sabaw)
- masters the shape sorting skill and does it fast!
- follows simple orders (take off socks, shorts, give me __, bless, lets get out, go down, up, use pick it up, etc)
- plays appropriately at the playroom like slides, rides bikes, dunks a ball
- identifies pictures in books... many of them! and labels them when asked.
- can say more than 60 words! (only had about 10 when he turned 2! can you believe it?)
- reads words! yes! he can read: giraffe, mouth, eyes, nose, ear, chimpanzee, elephant, kick, and a lot more! (thanks Ninang Cathy and Ninong Noi for your "baby can read" CD gift!)
- in his playgroup, he answers his teachers when asked to identify some drawings like "umbrella" "tree" :)
- identify shapes (heart, szuare, star, circle)
- finishes every last word of almost all nursery rhymes and songs we taught him
- can perform simple action songs using his hands (eentsy weentsy spider, thank you Lord, i love you.. etc)
- makes the sign of the cross in a very cute way!!!! :)
- sings... and dances too!
- pays attention when i read him a book and points to familiar things..
- listens and seems to understand when we pray before bedtime (ga kipat2 and mata)
- knows and identify members of our immediate and extended family.
- so much more aware of things and happenings around him... tries to go out when there's a plane, looks out the window when there's an unusual noise, or when there's a visitor :)
that's all i can remember so far... im smiling with pride to tell you my baby love2 did all these in just 2 months of early intervention ( 4 hour therapy each week, full attention from me, playgroup, and so much love love love) isnt he amazing?!? ... there are still many things on my list of goals for him.. but i know, we have so much TIME ahead of us :) and these past 2 months, we have been blessed tremendously by GOd. this is the time when i feel God's embrace the closest. and this is the time, when my relationship with my hubby is at its bestest :)
better days are up ahead! storms will come. but .. as the song my father taught us when we were still small: "with Christ on my vessel.. i can smile at the storm! as we go sailing home!"

Is God calling you to deeper trust and obedience?
Are you involved in a situation right now that seems to have no solution? Is God calling you to greater service, or deeper trust and obedience? Don’t give up the fight of faith! Don’t let the world reduce your vision! Remember St. Joseph and hold fast to God’s promises even in the face of incredible odds.
“Father, fill me with the faith of Abraham and Joseph. Move me to repentance as you moved King David. Teach me, Father, to hear your voice and obey you in all things.”

The Lord of heaven and earth has chosen to make his home in you!
His words for me today ...
Even Jesus felt abandoned as he tasted the depths of our alienation from the Father (Matthew 27:46). Yet he clung to what he knew to be the truth. At what looked like his moment of utter defeat, he confidently placed his life into his Father’s hands (Luke 23:46). Just before today’s Gospel, he declares that no one can snatch us from those strong, capable hands (John 10:28).
Whatever the outward circumstances of your life, whatever your feelings of discouragement, anchor yourself in this humbling, awe inspiring, overwhelming truth: The Lord of heaven and earth has chosen to make his home in you!
“Almighty God, your only Son is alive in me! Let me draw on the power of his love every moment of every day.”
now he's talking!
here's one more...everytime a helicopter pass by, we would exclaim: "Helicopter!" then as if to argue with us, he would go: "Ehhbee!" which means airplane hahaha :)

Lord I surrender my life into Your hands...
Readings
In everything he does in us, God’s one goal is to make us strong in faith. Today’s reading from the Book of Daniel gives us a lesson in how faith can grow through testing. According to the story, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were companions of the prophet Daniel during the time of Babylonian captivity. When Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, issued a decree that all his subjects must bow down before a golden idol, these three men were not afraid to face the consequences of their refusal. Enraged, the king threw them into a furnace that was stoked sevenfold to make the flames murderously intense. Yet these three heroes escaped unharmed, and the king acknowledged Yahweh as the one true God.God wants us to trust that he is always with us, especially when we face trial and difficulty. Satan, our enemy, wants to rob us of our confidence. He wants to suggest doubts and fears to us so that we would abandon our trust in God. But the promise remains that God can turn every trial into an opportunity for revealing his faithfulness and power.
We all face struggles: times of weakness and temptation, the loss of something we cherish, the disappointment of personal failure, or the death of a loved one. God wants to make use of these times of sorrow and stress to purify our faith and draw us closer into communion with him. It’s in our trials that we experience most clearly that our strength does not come from ourselves but from God, who will never abandon us.
If we keep our eyes fixed on the Lord as these three men did, nothing ever has to separate us from God. St. Teresa of Avila kept the following verse as a bookmark in her breviary: “Let nothing trouble you. Let nothing frighten you. All is fleeting. God alone is unchanging. Patience obtains everything. The one who possesses God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.” Similarly, Peter described the Christian faith as something “more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire” (1 Peter 1:7). Let’s ask the Lord to give us a strong faith that can endure any trial, and to fill us with a joy that never forgets his abiding presence.
“Lord, I surrender my life into your hands. Let nothing keep me from the joy of your loving presence.”
(Psalm) Daniel 3:52-56; John 8:31-42

hello! :)
its been almost a month since my Rujim's 2nd birthday. it's been almost a month since i silently spent sleepless nights torturing myself with "possible signs of developmental disorder. Rujim shows a few of it but not all. but as a parent (and someone with poor EQ) i was desperate to know and prove that my son's just fine. he's just delayed in speech and he could be just ignoring us when we call him. he could just be fixated with cars and wheels like any normal toddler. he could just be a loner like his dad. he is just fine. so the internet research went on for days. and the nightmare went on. until we finally met up with a developmental pediatrician who could not give us a formal diagnosis but instead admitted that Rujim has some sort of difficulty with focus and communication. we have to wait and see. i couldn't wait and just see. so we enrolled Rujim in a playgroup (MWF) and got an OT for him (TTH). also started with gfcf diet right away! the research continues... my crying bouts got worse... but i prayed... our families prayed... until thankfully. those nightmare-filled days and nights are over :) thanks to God's love and mercy. i don't know why but i can say im prepared for whatever God has prepared for us. I trust him. I thank him for the blessings. Too many to mention.
One enormous blessing is my family's relocation to Singapore, where i believe has good institutions for early interventions. I can't wait to live a new life out there.
One more exciting blessing is Baby Miguel who is due to come out May 1st! :) i actually started writing to him in his notebook. As i blog now, he is moving in my womb as if he shares my excitement!
today, we still do not have the answers to our questions but we certainly are assured of God's anwers and promises. we still do not have the surest tools to help Rujim with whatever disorder he has if there really is, but as parents we are doing everything we can to give him early intervention. God gave us the grace to be madly in love with our son every single day. and God makes our son what he is in a way that delights us. these days are filled with hope, peace, joy, and laughter just seeing Rujim with his priceless milestones.
and that's the reason for this blog... to show the world how wonderful and adorable our son is and i thank the Lord for giving him to us just as he is.
today: his new words are: "CHI!" (chair) and "MAMOW" (rainbow)
